The Long Push

All the things we want most deeply require a sustained effort over a long period of time.

You can’t lose all your excess weight in a week.

You can’t build a six pack in a month.

Unless you win the lottery, you won’t be getting rich overnight.

Do you want to write a book, have a great marriage, have friendships you can depend on, have a healthy retirement?

Then you have to get ready to push for a long time.

The sooner you embrace this, and even learn to love it and seek it out, the better off you’ll be. At the beginning, it will be only grind, but then a love for the process itself will quietly grow inside you and you’ll become the kind of person that seeks responsibility instead of running from it.
